Senator Ted Kennedy passed away on Tuesday from Brain Cancer.Ted Kennedy was always in the shadow of his older bothers, John and Robert, but he has left his mark on the world with the work he has done in the US Senate.
Kennedy has had a lot to do with almost every major Democratic and Bipartisan legislative initiative for the past 45 years and was undeniably one of the greatest champions of civil rights and health care reform this country has ever known. In retrospect, it is without a doubt that he is no longer eclipsed by the memory of his brothers.
The 1980 Americans With Disabilities Act, the 1965 Voting Rights Act, and the No Child Left Behind Act of 2001 are just a few of the landmark pieces of legislation he was involved with. He had a helping hand in raising the minimum wage and expanding health care for children. The list is too long to even begin to post here.
Probably the greatest complement we could ever give Ted Kennedy, would be to press forward and turn his dream of Health Care Reform into reality.
Kennedy's accomplishments are many and the People of the United State should be thankful he was with us for so long.
