In this day of outrageous medical bills, billing department errors, no one willing to help straighten out a bill, I am sure we all have wanted to do what Jason West did.
According to the Deseret News of Salt Lake City, Jason West went to the Basin Clinic in Vernal , Utah on May 27th prepared to dispute an outstanding $25 bill.
Assistant Vernal Police Chief Keith Campbell says that after asking staff members whether they accepted cash, West dumped 2,500 pennies on the counter and demanded that staff count them.
Campbell says the incident upset staff because pennies were strewn about the counter and floor, and West's action served "no legitimate purpose".
Police later issued the 38-year-old West a citation for disorderly conduct. That carries a fine of as much as $140. Or 14,000 pennies.
If everyone put one penny in an envelope with a note that it is to be applied to payment of Jason West's fine and sent it to the Vernal Utah Police Dept., I bet we could have Jason's fine paid in no time flat.
I am getting my envelope ready now, how about all of you!
